01 / System directions

One travel path.
A coordinated component package.

Choose a starting system type, then define the route, cables, carriers and working conditions. Final track sizes and component ratings follow the selected layout and model.

Four carriers shown for clarity. The configuration model and final BOM may have a different count.

Start with four layout questions.

  • Route: straight travel, offsets, curves or junctions?
  • Cables: power/control quantities, dimensions, weight and bend radius?
  • Carriers: trolley load, support, towing and buffers?
  • Parking: available storage length and loop clearance at the end?

Review the model assumptions.

Record the route, cable package and electrical inputs. The carrier, cable-length, resistance and EXW budget models are planning references; final layout and cable selection need project review.

Your Festoon Requirements

Use actual route and cable data where available. The sample is a planning example, not a validated component selection.

Use these reference options to define the project. Confirm actual ratings, cable data, trolley loads, support and parking requirements for the selected system.

SystemsC-rail 30/40/60 (galvanized or stainless), I-beam trolley
CablesFlat PVC/neoprene or round; power 4-core 4–35 mm² typical; control 4–24 cores 0.75–1.5 mm²
TrolleysBall-bearing wheels, cable saddles/clamps, tow trolley, end clamp, buffers
Loop & SpacingLoop depth 300–800 mm; carrier spacing 0.8–1.2 m typical
OptionsCurves, junctions, parking section, tensioning devices, SS hardware
Docs & TestsTrack layout, BOM, assembly instruction

The reference table and builder cover different discussion ranges. Loop depth, carrier spacing, ampacity and bend radius must be checked with the actual cables and trolley model; neither voltage-drop proxy is a cable approval.

05 / System reference & budget scope

See the cable arrangement.
Understand the budget inputs.

The cost breakdown below shows the single-set planning model before quantity discounts and urgency. Cable pricing includes a 10% allowance; final BOM quantities and supply scope are confirmed separately.

Discuss My Runway & Cables ↗
Does the builder produce a final carrier count or BOM?

No. It preserves a simple length/spacing model and cable-loop allowance. Actual trolley loading, cable weight and dimensions, bend radii, tow/end arrangements and parking area are confirmed in the layout and BOM.

Why are there two voltage-drop percentages?

One preserves the model based on runway length. The second uses the estimated cable length, which includes the loop allowance. Both use a resistance-only approximation; actual routing and electrical design can produce different results.

Does a percentage below the selected limit approve the cable?

No. Confirm actual installed length, cable resistance at operating temperature, reactance, power factor, starting current and ampacity, together with cable construction and flexing requirements.

What happens if even 35 mm² exceeds the model limit?

The tool requests a full cable/system review instead of suggesting the same 35 mm² again. Any comparison section shown is a model candidate and is not applied automatically.

Does the I-beam budget include the structural beam?

No. The I-beam branch uses bracket/trolley pricing assumptions. Confirm the structural beam, support and supply interfaces separately in the quotation.

Is the amount an order total and is the timeline guaranteed?

The illustrative EXW amount is the planning total for the entered quantity, with the model discount and urgency factors. Scope, final price, availability and delivery are confirmed in the quotation.
