Overhead Cranes – Types, Budget & RFQ

Single and double girder overhead cranes, underslung and low-headroom solutions, explosion-proof and cleanroom options. Use the quick budget slider and RFQ form to get an engineered proposal fast.

Single / Double girder Underslung & low headroom Explosion proof & cleanroom

Minimum information: capacity (t), span (m), lifting height (m), duty class, environment (standard indoor, outdoor, explosion proof, cleanroom, high temperature, etc.). If beams are difficult to ship, we can supply a beam-free kit so you weld girders locally.

Overhead crane families

Use this as a quick overview, then scroll to the guide and budget reference.

Single girder

Economical option for light/medium duty.

Best up to ~20 t and moderate span, with standard hoist.

Double girder

For heavy duty or long span workshops.

Allows walkway, maintenance platform, auxiliary hoists.

Underslung & low-headroom

When building height is tight.

Runways under beams or ultra-compact hoists for max hook height.

Explosion-proof & cleanroom

For hazardous or controlled environments.

ATEX/IECEx, stainless steel or coated, low-particle designs.

How to choose your overhead crane?

Use this as a quick guide. Share capacity, span, lifting height, duty class and environment in the RFQ form for an accurate proposal.

Category Best for When to prefer
Single girder Economical, medium duty Best budget option up to ~20 t and moderate span
Double girder Heavy duty or long span Higher stability, walkway, auxiliary hooks and higher hook height
Underslung Very low building heights Runways suspended under roof beams, limited headroom above
Low headroom Maximizing hook travel Top-running, but hook height is tight; compact hoist layout
Explosion proof Hazardous areas (gas / dust zones) Specify ATEX / IECEx, zone/class and gas group in the RFQ form
Cleanroom Controlled environments Low particle emission, stainless or coated surfaces, special sealing

Indicative budget reference

Use this as a rough guide for internal planning. Final price depends on span, duty class, hoist type, electrics, installation scope and local-weld beam options. Share your data in the RFQ form and we’ll confirm.

Typical project ranges*

Light / workshop
up to ~10 t, single girder
≈ US$ 8,000 – 18,000
Standard factory
10–32 t, single/double girder
≈ US$ 18,000 – 60,000
Heavy / special
>32 t, explosion-proof / cleanroom
≈ US$ 60,000+

Quick slider – adjust capacity & span for a very rough ballpark only. For a precise quotation, we’ll review your drawings and layout.

*For equipment supply only (EXW/FOB level) – excludes building steel, civil works, import duties, etc. Use the RFQ form for a project-specific quotation.

Very rough equipment budget*
US$ 20,000 – 32,000
for 10 t × 16 m · standard duty overhead crane, equipment only.
*Ballpark only for internal planning. Final quotation after engineering review, freight and any local-weld beam kit option.
Tip: Tell us if beams are hard to ship – we can quote a beam-free kit.

How to get your overhead crane

A simple four-step path from idea to commissioning. You can jump in with an RFQ at any stage.

1
Share duty & layout
Capacity, span, lifting height, duty class, building drawings, runway/beam data, environment (indoor, outdoor, Ex, cleanroom).
2
Configuration & budget
We select the crane family, hoist, electrics and optional local-weld beam kit, then give a budget range and outline GA for checking.
3
Engineering pack
After technical alignment we confirm interfaces, wheel loads, electrics and options, then issue a project-specific quotation and drawings.
4
Manufacture & commissioning
Standard production 25–45 days, global shipping. Remote or on-site commissioning, training and long-term spare parts support.

If beams are difficult to ship, see our dedicated page Local-weld beam solution »

Beams hard or expensive to ship?

Switch to a local-weld beam kit. We ship all crane components except the main girders and end-beam steelwork, plus interface drawings and guidance. You fabricate beams locally, assemble on site and cut freight & lead time.

  • Beam-free kits for overhead, gantry and jib cranes
  • Interface engineering (wheel loads, hole maps, clearances)
  • Support for local fabrication, NDT and commissioning
Learn more – Local-weld beam solution
Why highlight this?
  • Oversized beams often drive freight cost and complexity.
  • Local welding with engineered interfaces can meet strength and stiffness targets.
  • Ideal for remote sites, tight ports or projects with strong local fabrication partners.

    FAQ

Can you design underslung cranes for very low buildings?
Yes. Underslung overhead cranes are specifically used where building height is limited and the runway beams are installed under the roof structure. Share your clear height and layout for checking.
What information do you need for an accurate quotation?
Capacity (t), span (m), lifting height (m), duty class, working hours, environment (indoor / outdoor / explosion proof / cleanroom), runway conditions and control mode. Drawings and photos help us respond faster.
Can you supply rails, beams and installation support?
We can supply crane beams and rails according to your project, provide wheel-load data for civil design, and support your local team during installation. On-site commissioning can be arranged where available.
