Local-Weld Beam Solution | CYCRANE

Local-Weld Beam Solution

Oversized girders make freight hard and expensive. We ship a beam-free kit—all crane components except the main/bridge girders and end-beam steelwork—plus interface drawings and guidance. You weld beams locally, assemble on site, and cut freight & lead time.

* Rule-of-thumb: ~28 CBM (20′), ~68 CBM (40′ HQ). We will optimize packing per project.

Assumptions
  • CBM = L×W×H×Qty; unit conversion applied globally.
  • Suggested pallets: ~1.7 m³ per pallet (rough planning only).

Who is this solution for?

Local-weld kits work best when you have at least basic steel fabrication resources on site or nearby. Typical use cases:

Export projects with high freight cost

When beams push you into oversize loads or break-bulk, shipping only kits can dramatically reduce freight.

  • Remote mining & energy sites
  • Islands and inland destinations
  • Multi-crane projects

Clients with trusted local fabricators

You already work with steel shops that know local codes. We provide loads & interfaces; they fabricate beams.

  • Existing workshops & contractors
  • Local welding and machining capability
  • Need clear drawings and guidance

Fast-track & phased projects

Local fabrication and kit production can run in parallel to compress overall schedule and ease approvals.

  • Short installation windows
  • Brownfield plants with constraints
  • Multiple phases or expansions

How it works

Engineering, fabrication and assembly are split clearly between CYCRANE and your local team.

1
Share duty & layout Capacity / span / lift; building & rail conditions; environment; local codes and standards.
2
Receive interface & kit design Wheel loads, rail loads, clearances, interfaces, wiring concepts and packing plan for kits.
3
Local weld & pre-assembly Girder fabrication, machining, drilling, painting and runway works handled locally per drawings.
4
Kit arrival & commissioning Install electrical kits, hoists and drives; we support start-up, testing and final acceptance.

Benefits & responsibility split

Dimension Ship full crane Local-weld kit
Shipping volume Oversized beams with limited stacking Drastically reduced (kits only)
Customs / handling Heavy/oversize handling & permits Standard packages with clear breakdown
Lead time Sequential: manufacture then ship Parallel: local fabrication + kit production
Future upgrades Harder to modify interfaces Standardised interfaces & documentation

CYCRANE scope

  • Crane configuration & duty classification.
  • Wheel loads, rail loads and interface forces.
  • End carriage, drive, hoist and control selection.

Deliverables & standards

What you receive

A complete package of mechanical and electrical documentation to support local fabrication and installation.
  • GA & interface drawings (girders/end-beams, wheel centers, hole maps).
  • Wheel loads & rail loads, clearances and hook approaches.
  • Electrical single-line and terminal plans, VFD parameter guidelines, I/O list.
  • Power supply routing (busbar/drag chain/festoon) and cable schedules.
  • Commissioning checklist, load-test procedures and acceptance templates.

Referenced standards (examples)

We design to commonly used international and regional standards, adjusted per project.
  • FEM/EN, ISO, GB/T, CMAA (per region and crane type).
  • ATEX/IECEx if explosion-proof equipment is required.
  • Cleanroom, food, marine coatings and corrosion classes if specified.
  • Weld classes and NDT requirements defined in the interface pack.
  • Local code references can be incorporated when provided.

    FAQ

Why not ship the beams? Is local welding reliable?
Beams drive oversize freight and handling. With engineered interfaces and weld class requirements, local fabrication can fully meet strength and stiffness targets. We provide wheel-load boundaries to support local verification.
Do you supply end-beams or are they local?
Both options. Typical approach: we supply drives/wheel blocks and exact interfaces; we can also provide steelwork drawings or finished end-beams if required, depending on your local capacity and schedule.
Can you support on-site and final acceptance?
Yes. We offer remote support and, where possible, on-site supervision via partners or our own engineers, including commissioning & load-test checklists and acceptance templates.
